Subtitled “A Tale of Death, a Tale of Life”, the film reviews the crime itself, the series of events leading to his arrest, some history from the town in which it happened, and the eventual execution of Perry. Morris was intending to create a documentary on Dr. James Grigson, known as Dr. Death, whose expert opinion was used to recommend the death penalty under Texas law. Morris, while interviewing Adams, became convinced that he was innocent and switched focus. Randall Adams ran out of gas on his way
